JOURNAL

Tuesday you made your first bandsaw cut. What did you check before you dropped the blade?

TODAY

  1. Journal, then phones in the caddy (8 min)
  2. MIG Welding test in Canvas. Rules are at the top. 15 of 15 before you hold a gun (12 min)
  3. MIG demo: hood down, gas on, stickout, gun angle, the word cover before every arc (12 min)
  4. Half the room welds tic tac toe with a partner, an assistant at every gun. Rest: bandsaw, grinder (25 min)
  5. Swap halves. Grinder is sanding disc or wire cup only, your own coupon, quiz passed (25 min)
  6. Cleanup: gas off, guns hung, coupons on your team shelf, exit ticket (8 min)

DUE

Contract, General Shop Safety, Arc Welding and MIG Welding all at 100 percent before you hold a gun. Portable Angle Grinder quiz before the grinder. Metal Bandsaw lost its stop block question. If you were stuck at 10 of 11, you are through.

  3. Contract sprint: photo of your signed page into Canvas. No contract, no machine Thursday (12 min)
  4. General Shop Safety retakes to 100 percent, then corrections on a full sheet, into the basket (20 min)
  5. Bandsaw demo, then your first cut on scrap, one at a time. Metals 2 and 3 cut coupons (20 min)
  6. Cleanup and exit ticket (10 min)

DUE

Signed contract uploaded by midnight tonight. General Shop Safety and Arc Welding at 100 percent before Thursday. Corrections in the basket before you run anything.

NEXT CLASS

Sleeves down and fastened. MIG demo, then tic tac toe with a partner, one bead per square. No contract, bandsaw only.

  5. General Shop Safety test on Chromebooks, 100 percent, retakes free (20 min)
  6. Cleanup and exit ticket, contract sheet goes home with you (5 min)
